Clintons in Contempt

Capitol Hill turned the Epstein spotlight back on former first couple Bill and Hillary Clinton on Wednesday.

After defying subpoenas to testify in Congress’s Epstein investigation, the House Oversight Committee advanced a pair of resolutions holding both Clintons in contempt of Congress. The couple argue the subpoenas are “invalid and legally unenforceable,” saying they have already provided the Committee with everything they know in sworn statements.

Committee chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY) praised the bipartisan committee vote saying, “no one’s above the law,” though some Democrats worry the resolutions divert attention from the Department of Justice’s delayed release of the complete Epstein files. 

The contempt resolutions could hit the House floor in early February and, if passed, could lead to criminal prosecution by the DOJ.

Whether you’re critical of government proceedings or think they’re unfairly criticized, the command for Christians is to love neighbors and enemies alike. That requires speaking about others with dignity and respect, even if we feel like they haven’t earned it.
