Is this a conservative publication or a liberal publication?
Neither. We have writers from across the political spectrum who advocate to make sure their political views are fairly represented. The Pour Over aims to be politically neutral not because the middle is correct – it’s often not – but because we believe it is what is most helpful in understanding current events.
Is The Pour Over affiliated with a church or denomination?
No. The Pour Over is run by Christians and aims to help Christians build a spiritually healthy relationship with the news, but is not affiliated with any church or denomination. You can read our statement of beliefs here and how we write our Christian perspectives here.
Who owns The Pour Over?
The Pour Over is 97% owned and controlled by employees (the other 3% is friends and family). We have complete editorial independence, so all our mistakes are our own!
Where do you get your news?
Our goal is to understand all sides of a story before we summarize for our readers. This means we read a wide range of sources, including outlets that are generally politically center (e.g., Reuters, The Hill), overtly conservative (e.g., Fox News), overtly liberal (e.g., CNN), and plenty of others (e.g., WSJ, AP, Axios, BBC). We typically link multiple sources in every story for you to fact-check or dive deeper into a story.

Are you pro-life or pro-choice?
We believe in the sanctity of life, and we believe that Christians are called to love and care for the unborn, single mothers, women who have received abortions, and people who passionately disagree with us on this topic.
How can I support The Pour Over?
First, thank you for that desire! The best ways to support us are by sharing TPO with friends or Choosing to Pay for our news. We are not a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and do not accept donations.
