Three days after a gunman opened fire outside the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, federal prosecutors have charged a man with attempting to assassinate President Trump.

The 31-year-old—who shot a Secret Service agent before being tackled Saturday—has invoked his right to remain silent. Investigators say he emailed his family an apparent manifesto signed “Friendly Federal Assassin;” Trump described the manifesto as an “anti-Christian” declaration. Chief of Staff Susie Wiles is convening Secret Service and DHS officials this week to reassess protocols ahead of the president’s upcoming public appearances.

Meanwhile, Melania Trump is calling on ABC to fire Jimmy Kimmel over a monologue delivered two days before the shooting. Kimmel joked she had a “glow like an expectant widow,” which she called “corrosive.” Kimmel said it was a "light roast" about the 23-year POTUS-FLOTUS age difference.
