Hi! It’s me, Shadrach. Apparently, I’m your civic guide today. If you’ve been complaining about how things are going (and I’ve heard you, the walls are thin), this guide will help you feel informed and able to vote in this year’s midterms. What’s at stake

With no Senate or Governor’s races, it's a quiet election year for Hoosiers. The House landscape is set up to be pretty safe and likely uneventful, which might be a welcome relief in an election year with so much tension. Though, a 2025 poll by North Star Opinion Research found 53% of Hoosiers believe the state is headed in the wrong direction and are unsatisfied with the candidate slate they have to choose from in statewide elections. 60% of respondents to a 2025 Change Research poll believe their legislators should be prioritizing inflation and cost of living, followed by energy costs (38%), property taxes (37%), and jobs and the economy (36%).

Hoosiers will elect nine candidates to represent them in the U.S. House. Republicans are expected to hold seven of those seats.

Cook doesn’t rank any Indiana district competitive. IN-1 is likely Democratic, IN-7 is solidly Democratic, and the rest are solidly Republican. Candidates in both parties filed to run in all nine districts, so no district was guaranteed to either party, but a seat hasn’t changed party hands since 2012.

This is a proposed amendment to the state constitution that would deny bail to offenders when the proof of guilt is evident OR the presumption of guilt is strong AND there is clear and convincing evidence that there is no condition under which releasing the offender would be safe for any other person or the community.

May they not put their security in the outcomes of elections or the decisions of their lawmakers. For every voter this season, draw near to them with Your presence and assure them with Your promises.

Work through each candidate to bring about your good will. May they campaign with grace, win and lose with humility, and conduct themselves with integrity in all they do. Shape their hearts to pursue the good of their constituents over and above money, power, or personal gain, that they might bring about Your kingdom on this earth, whether or not they intend to.
