12-Day War

A fragile Israel-Iran ceasefire didn’t immediately cease all the firing.

On Monday, President Trump announced he had brokered a “complete and total” ceasefire between the two countries, ending their “12-day war.” However, hours later, Israel claimed Iran broke the ceasefire (which Iran denies) and retaliated by striking a radar system near Tehran. Yesterday, Trump used colorful language to scold both nations, angrily telling them to “calm down” and warning Israel that any additional attacks will be a “major violation.” 

Since those early violations, the ceasefire appears to be holding.

All this came after Iran launched missiles at a U.S. base in Qatar—retaliation for the U.S. bombing of Iranian nuclear sites. President Trump thanked Iran for giving early notice on the “very weak” missile attack, which was easily intercepted and resulted in no damage or casualties.
