I started this newsletter in 2018, and I can honestly say that the times we live in are unique. You should see our inbox: conservative readers unsubscribe because we’re “bashing President Trump,” while liberal readers accuse us of “sanewashing Trump”... as reactions to the exact same story. Massive news organizations want viewers to become angry, fearful, and hateful. I believe people are seeing the problem more clearly than ever and are looking for an alternative.

That’s why I created The Pour Over: because I believe the only lasting solution to this pervasive (and growing) division is Jesus.

One of the ways we’re able to keep providing free Christ-first news is through our readers who Choose to Pay. Their generosity is what keeps our keyboard backlights on! Still, most people haven’t become Choose to Payers because:

They don’t think they should pay for the news
They’re not ready to spend the money

I get it. There are lots of barriers to paying for what you can get for free, but here’s my ask…

If you’re able, will you pay $48/year (less than $1/week) to help us plan ahead, launch projects to help readers foster spiritually healthy relationships with the news, and reach more people longing for an alternative to fear-driven headlines?

In these anxious times, we’re cutting through the chaos to help Christians stay informed (without feeling overwhelmed) and focused on what really matters: Christ.
