Trump's nominee for Surgeon General felt the heat on Capitol Hill Wednesday.

Dr. Casey Means—a wellness entrepreneur and MAHA strategist—fielded pointed questions in a Senate committee hearing. When asked about letting her medical license lapse in 2024, she told senators she “had no plans to reactivate” it, since she won’t be “seeing patients in this role.”

Senators from both parties grilled Means on whether vaccines cause autism; she affirmed that “vaccines save lives,” but that “science is never settled.” Later, Sen. Murray (D-WA) pressed her on past comments that Americans "use birth control like candy." Means also faced allegations that she promoted products to followers without disclosing she was paid to do so; claims she denied.

Now, the Republican-majority Senate Health committee will decide whether to advance her nomination to the full Senate.
