The Program

Praying the Newsis an SMS program from The Pour Over (Pour Over LLC). Subscribers receive a short guided prayer tied to a current news headline, written and recorded by The Pour Over’s writers, delivered as a text message with a link to that day’s prayer.

How to Join

Text PRAY to 71989 to join the free plan, or add your mobile number at prayingthenews.thepourover.org and tap Continue. By submitting your number you agree to receive recurring automated prayer text messages from Praying the News at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

Message Frequency

• Free plan: one message each Monday, approximately 4–5 messages per month.
• Paid supporter plan: messages every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, up to 13 messages per month.

Free subscribers can reply UPGRADE at any time for information about the paid plan.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply.The Pour Over does not charge for the text messages themselves; your mobile carrier’s standard rates apply. The paid supporter plan is a separate paid subscription to The Pour Over.

Reply HELP to any message, call us at 319-224-8660, or email news@thepourover.org.

Cancelling

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages after that. Reply START to rejoin.

Replying STOP also cancels your paid Praying the News subscription, if you have one, not just the text messages.

Supported Carriers

This program is supported by AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS and Virgin Mobile. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undeliverable messages.

Privacy

Your mobile number is used to deliver this program and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We respect your privacy and will not distribute your mobile phone number to any third parties. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
