Happy Monday!
May your week go as well as Evan Pfeufer’s—the Long Island man who called the Knicks’ victory in his high school yearbook six years ago. Always keep receipts.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Revival is a renewed conviction of sin and repentance, followed by an intense desire to live in obedience to God. It is giving up one’s will to God in deep humility.”

Peace Deal
The U.S. and Iran have reached a peace deal.
Pakistan’s prime minister was the first to announce a deal, saying “both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon” and that an official signing will take place in Switzerland on Friday. President Trump confirmed the news, saying “congratulations to all” and promising “oil will flow” once the deal is inked.
Details of the deal are not confirmed, but reportedly include:
-
Lifting the U.S. naval blockade
-
Reopening the Strait of Hormuz
-
Ending sanctions of Iranian oil and energy
-
Iran disposing of all enriched uranium
President Trump suggested last week a deal could be signed Sunday, but doubts rose when an Israeli strike on Hezbollah in Beirut, Lebanon, killed three yesterday morning. As of writing, Israel has not commented on the U.S.-Iran deal.

ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE
Let’s celebrate good news without placing our hope in earthly peace or prosperity. Instead, focus on the unchangeable end to this story: our God on the throne in a renewed world, ruling unchallenged forever. Live today in light of that happy ending.
“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; on that day the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, the elements will burn and be dissolved, and the earth and the works on it will be disclosed. Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way, it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godliness as you wait for the day of God and hasten its coming.”

ECONOMY
To The Moon Market
SpaceX blasted into the public markets on Friday.
The rocket company sold 555.6 million shares at $135 each to raise $75B, making it the largest IPO in history. The stock price continued to soar throughout the day, closing at $161 (+19%), making SpaceX the sixth-most valuable U.S.-listed company at $2.1 trillion—nearly double Tesla’s $1.2 trillion valuation.
Elon Musk ended the day with a personal net worth of $1.1 trillion (see chart breakdown), making him the world’s first-ever trillionaire.
SpaceX is using the $75B it raised, along with profits from its Starlink satellite internet service, to reinvest in its cash-burning rocket and AI business. The company plans to build AI datacenters in space, help return man to the moon in 2028, and ultimately build a self-sustaining city on Mars.

PRAY WITH US
Giver of Every Good Gift, I acknowledge that the gift of wealth comes with a big, bold warning label. Protect me from the thorns of cravings that will only choke out healthy growth. Help me see and root out any love of money that has lodged in my soul and burrowed more deeply than I can perceive. Cut it out so that it will never bear the fruit of envy, greed, autonomy, and haughtiness, which will lead me away from the faith and pierce me with many pangs. Wisen me to discern prudence from greed, stewardship from idolatry, ambition from pride, and gratitude from gluttony.
Amen.
FROM OUR PARTNERS
Just One Google Search From the Gospel
There are places around the world missionaries can’t reach… but the internet can. In the most dangerous places, young people desperate for light are picking up their phones and searching for hope.
One Hope’s digital programs are meeting them in that search with God’s Word—in their language, exactly when they need it—then connecting them to an online missionary to go deeper. The conflict doesn’t pause, and this generation can’t wait. The door is open now.
BE DOERS
Just $1 (that’s 100 pennies) gets the Word of God to 3 young people in the Middle East and North Africa. Your gift makes this life-transforming moment possible. Right now, The Pour Over is matching the first $4,000 given through this link.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Knicks, Sticks, and Kicks
The New York Knickerbockers are NBA Champs for the first time in 53 years.
The Knicks beat the Spurs (94-90) to win Game 5 Saturday night, with finals MVP Jalen Brunson scoring 45 points to help erase a 16-point deficit. NYPD says 63 people were arrested as some celebrations turned riotous; a teenager was shot, and school buses that transported World Cup fans were torched.
On the ice, the Carolina Hurricanes stormed past the Vegas Golden Knights (3-0) yesterday to hoist their first Stanley Cup since 2006.
Meanwhile, the Stars and Stripes beat Paraguay 4-1 in their first World Cup match. Striker Folarin Balogun found the back of the net twice (watch ‘em), and Captain Christian Pulisic left at halftime with a left calf injury. Their next game is against Australia on Friday.

Verse to consider whether you’re basking in triumph or stinging in defeat—we all share the same victory: “Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, death, is your victory? Where, death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!”
1 Corinthians 15:54-57 (CSB) (read full passage)
IN OTHER BREWS…
Switzerland voted yesterday to keep its melting pot melting. Roughly 55% of voters rejected a referendum to cap the population at 10 million (currently at 9.1 million), which would have threatened ties with the EU—Switzerland’s largest trading partner. The proposal was championed by the right-wing Swiss People’s Party, who say surging immigration is straining social services and driving up rent.
The U.S. reportedly killed the leader of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua in an airstrike Friday. President Trump posted that U.S. Southern Command delivered a “swift and lethal kinetic strike,” executing Niño Guerrero, a longtime leader of the group, which the U.S. has designated a terrorist organization. Venezuelan authorities confirmed their involvement, calling it a “joint operation.”
Yesterday was Flag Day, President Trump’s 80th birthday, and the first-ever UFC cage fight at the White House. More than 4,000 spectators gathered at an octagon on the South Lawn—a privately funded $60M temporary arena called “The Claw” (see it here)—to watch a card of cage fights. The event, part of the celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary, was dampened by thunderstorms.
Solar energy is comin’ in hot. New data showed that solar supplied more U.S. electricity (12.8%) than coal (12.2%) for the first time in May. The sun is now America’s third-largest electricity supplier behind gas and nuclear, and it’s just getting warmed up: solar production is up 17% year-over-year, while energy from coal has dropped 11% in the last year.
Taylor Swift notched another accolade: youngest woman inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Swift, 36, was inducted alongside other lyrical stars, including Kenny Loggins, Alanis Morissette, and KISS’s Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, 28, also had a celebratory weekend after becoming the first person to cross 500M YouTube subscribers on Friday.

What My Wife is Smuggling
Raspberry LMNT*
My wife, Hannah, likes to swing by the TPO office with the girls. Well… sorta.
They’re both under 3, and they actually just stay in the car while Hannah texts me to “bring a box of Raspberry LMNT out.”
I’m not at all suggesting she’s addicted to Raspberry LMNT, but it does feel a little bit like it… she’s just gotta have that healthy hydration (a science-backed ratio of sodium, magnesium, and potassium).
And now, LMNT has caffeinated Lemonade Iced Tea to try! When you buy through this link, you’ll get a free 8-pack of LMNT’s most popular drink mix flavors. Happy hydrating!
