Ballot Scootin’ Boogie

The Supreme Court ruled that the Trump Administration can (for now) implement (parts of) an executive order limiting mail-in ballots.

SCOTUS’ 6-3 decision lifts a lower-court block on the order’s instructions for a DHS-built federal list of eligible voters to reduce “the risk of fraud.” Another part of the order, directing the USPS to only deliver ballots to those people, remains blocked. The Noble Nine said the states’ challenge was premature while agencies’ plans are TBD.

Nothing changes in mailboxes yet, and the courtroom battle isn’t over. The High Court left its gavel poised to rule on plans once implemented, and California and New York are “exploring…legal options” for the “sacred” right to vote.

Meanwhile in South Carolina, Sen. Darline Graham won the GOP primary runoff against Rep. Ralph Norman to replace the late Lindsey Graham.
