Happy Easter Monday!
Imagine with us that first-century folks living around Jerusalem spoke modern English, had computers, sent emails, and valued facts-first news summaries… Here’s what they might have written about the happenings of that world-altering weekend 2,000 years ago.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Are you the only visitor in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things that happened there in these days?”

HISTORY
Rolling (Grave)stones
Early Sunday morning on the outskirts of Jerusalem, three women found a crucified Jewish man’s tomb empty.
On Thursday night, Jewish leaders set in motion their plan to execute Jesus—a teacher and miracle worker from Nazareth who had a large following—on blasphemy charges. Unable to execute people without Roman approval, they put Jesus before the Roman authorities, Pilate and Herod. Though the Romans found Jesus “not guilty of any of your charges,” they put him to death by crucifixion on Friday afternoon to avoid Jewish rebellion.
On Sunday morning, when the Sabbath was over, some women who had followed Jesus went to his tomb. But the entrance to the tomb was open, with the stone that had been sealing the entrance moved to the side. The tomb’s guards had fallen “like dead men,” and two angels reportedly appeared and told the women that Jesus “is not here, but has risen.”
The Jewish leaders claim that Jesus’s disciples stole his body. But his disciples and others now claim to have seen him alive, proclaiming that he’s the Messiah.

RADIATE HOPE
The resurrection of Jesus is the greatest headline we’ll ever write—the only one that will still be earth-shaking news 10,000 years from now, the one that is thoroughly good for our broken world and our sin-twisted hearts. Praise God that death can no longer sting those who are in Christ.
“The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

IN OTHER BREWS…
Over the last week, we’ve partnered with three organizations that share the good news of Jesus’s resurrection every day. If you haven’t already, we challenge you to pick one and donate $25.
The gospel isn’t bound by prison bars. Prison Fellowship brings the hope of Jesus to men and women in prison through Bibles, discipleship programs, and faith-filled community. Inside prison walls, people are discovering their God-given value and purpose. Every person bears God’s image—no life is beyond his reach. Your support helps bring healing and hope to those behind bars.
Disability doesn’t hinder the power of the good news. Joni and Friends envisions a world where every person with a disability finds hope, dignity, and belonging in the body of Christ. Through wheelchair distributions, family retreats, and church training, they ensure all are valued. Your gift helps bring mobility, community, and the hope of Christ to people living with disabilities. Send help and gospel hope today.
Today’s college students are tomorrow’s leaders, and the Campus Ministry of Cru—also known as Campus Crusade for Christ—has been equipping them to reach the world for Christ since 1951. From colleges to closed countries, Cru is equipping believers to share the gospel in classrooms, workplaces, and beyond. Your gift trains and sends believers to reach the world for Christ, making no place off-limits for the good news.

Who We’re Praying For
Over 830 people!
We’re lifting up the hundreds of people—friends, neighbors, and maybe even that coworker you boldly invited to church this Easter. Every invitation is a seed planted, and we’re praying that God would water those seeds, open hearts to the gospel, and lead them into an eternity-changing relationship with Christ.
Will you join us in praying? Ask God to stir faith, remove barriers, and draw these people closer to Him. And let this be an encouragement to you to keep planting seeds and sharing your faith—you never know how God might use your faithfulness!
