Barbara Bush, Former First Lady, Laid to Rest
Barbara Bush, matriarch of a political dynasty, was laid to rest at the age of 92 on Saturday. Mrs. Bush had six children and was known as "The Enforcer" for keeping a large and powerful family in line. Stories of her tough love and wit have created a rare and welcome truce in a season of divisive politics.

Barbara Bush was one of only two women to have both a husband and a son be President, (Abigail Adams was wife to John Adams and mother to John Quincy Adams). She will be missed by more than just her family, but by the country and the world.

Wells Fargo stopped opening fake accounts long enough to charge as many as 570,000 clients for car insurance they didn't need. The Bank is paying $1 billion to settle the claims of misconduct in both their auto lending and mortgage businesses.

North Korea Changes Tone
Called Supreme Leader by some and Rocket Man by others, North Korean's Kim Jong Un has halted missile and nuclear tests. While Kim has not agreed to dismantle North Korea's nuclear arsenal, this is a promising step from a country that has defiantly continued to test weapons despite UN sanctions.
We are praying for world leaders engaging in these talks even though, writing from Iowa, we were never particularly worried about being blown up.

A Royal Update
Prince William and Duchess Kate welcomed their third child, a healthy baby boy named Louis Arthur Charles, to the world on Monday.

A bulletin announcing the birth was placed on a golden easel in front of Buckingham palace, a tradition that dates back to 1837, and on twitter, a tradition that started much more recently and is significantly less cool.

In other Royal news, the Queen turned 92 years old on Saturday. She assumed the thrown when she was 25 years old and continues to wear very stylish hats.

Judges chapter 4
"But Jael the wife of Heber took a tent peg, and took a hammer in her hand. Then she went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple until it went down into the grown while he was lying fast asleep from weariness. So he died."
The "he" in question, Mr. Peghead, was Sisera the commander of the Canaanite army that was oppressing the Israelites. When the Israelites launched a coup, destroying his army of 900 iron chariots, he escaped and found refuge in the tent of Jael. Jael turned out to be not so welcoming.

God handed the Israelites over to the Canaanites because they did what was evil in His sight, then helped them slaughter the Canaanite army for oppressing them. Which makes us wonder...
